MORE and more residents in Waltham Forest are taking up arms to protest over the rate increase.

Alan Everson, of Clivedon Road, Highams Park, is spearheading a rates revolt by urging residents to delay paying their rates bill to make collection for the council as difficult as possible.

Mr Everson has been circulating a pamphlet in the Highams Park area seeking support.

So far, he claims to have had 90 per cent support for his campaign from the people he has canvassed.
