Petrol bomb home attack

PETROL bombers last night attacked the home of a council leader whose Labour group sparked angry demonstrations when it announced a 62 per cent rates rise.

Scotland Yard said the bomb, thrown at the house of Neil Gerrard, leader of Waltham Forest council, North-east London, charred the front door. No-one was hurt.

Mr Gerrard is said to have received several death threats over the rates rise.
