Petrol bombers last night attacked the home of a council leader whose Labour group sparked angry demonstrations when they announced a 62 per cent rates rise. The front door of the house of Mr Neil Gerrard, leader of Waltham Forest Council, North East London, was charred but no-one was hurt.
