Rate action appeal
The appeal by the Waltham Forest Ratepayers' Action Group against the high court's refusal to quash a 62% rate rise in the borough is to he heard on 14 September. The Appeal Court case could last two days and is expected to add a further £20,000 to the group's costs of £100,000. WFRAG's Martin Baxter said the appeal was being made following legal advice from three sources, but he refused to specify the details of the appeal. Waltham Forest Leader Neil Gerrard considers taking the case so far a waste of money. | ||
