Years earlier we had a memorable camping holiday in Guernsey, camping and mostly drinking considerable quantities of up market plonk. This was before the kids were born. We went back there in 1987 as a compromise. It was almost abroad but not quite. Crabbing on the Lihou causeway, I think. I look like a different person. I don't even recognise myself.
