I know little of Hugo Summerson except that he won some ridiculous prize, the Mills and Boons Prize for the Most Romantic MP, or something similar. So far as I know he was the only MP ever to win this prize. I think it was probably his only political honour. He turned up at council meetings a few times but I can not ever remember him speaking, or indeed having anything very much to say. |

Hugo Hawksley Fitzthomas Summerson (born 21 July 1950) is a Conservative Party politician. In 1987, against the national trend, he was elected Member of Parliament for Walthamstow, ousting the Labour incumbent Eric Deakins. However, Summerson lost the seat back in 1992 to Labour candidate Neil Gerrard.
