Camp America, Summer 2000 Dear Jo, Greetings from America! How are you? I've been here for three weeks now and I'm having a really good time. The camp I'm staying at is very religious and most of the staff are too, but I'm getting used to it. We're in the middle of a big pine wood and there's loads of animals about, especially bugs! Each camp is six days long and the second one started a few days ago. As they were registering for the second camp a snake was spotted in the rafters of the barn (building where they register) and while the children were screaming a bat flew across the ceiling! We took this as a bad sign, but actually the camp has been much better than the first one so far. Last week I had off so I went to Virginia beach. While I was there I did what's called a Skycoaster (I think) where they hauled me up to 102ft on a piece of string and then dropped me! If you look on the postcard enclosed you can see the arch I swung from. Anyway I have to go to collect the children from the pool now so I'll write again soon, Luv Laura | ||
