Train from Perth to Adelaide

The train's first stop was Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Western Australia, a mining town, seemingly mostly famous for its very public brothel. In fact the brothel even features on local postcards! At Kalgoorlie we happened upon a wonderful bar/ restaurant. While we sat at a table in a covered patio area a large cricket suddenly jumped out of the begonias and landed on my arm. It stayed there for a few seconds and then jumped back into the plants.

This is a postcard from Kalgoorlie-Boulder. The back of the card says: "Notorious Hay Street after dark." We were only in the town for a couple of hours and never found Hay Street. However, the people promoting the coach tour of the area made it clear that it was a brothel.
