Venice is one of the most beautiful cities on earth, a cultural treasure chest full of artistic and architectural jewels. It can also be a very lively place, especially in February when the city is overtaken by Carnival. The romance of Venice attracts film crews from all over the world, making it hard not to see the fabulous St Marcos or the gondolas on your screen any night. This is what I saw when I spent a few days in the place in February 2004.
