Terror watch at the Olympics
I've just watched One Day In September a documentary directed by Kevin Macdonald, about the Black September attack on the Munich Olympics. It reveals that the police and the civilian authorities were unbelievably incompetent..
It suggests well organised and trained terrorists can not be stopped if they want to create an incident. It also reveals that one of the main problems was that the German police couldn't get their armoured vehicles to the airport where the shoot out happened because the road was clogged with traffic. Presumably this explains the so called road lanes available only to Olympic officials during the London games. The organisers seem to have contingency plans and need to make sure that access roads are always clear.
