An unexpected cheque arrived today from some weird insurance polices my mother paid for week after week as I was growing up. Such things were quite common in those days.
I felt like ringing her up to thank her, but she died a few years ago. I used the money to buy a printer (my old one had come to the end of the road) and the new printer has just complained about me not turning it off properly. Now if anyone had told my mother she was saving for an arrogant and pushy printer, I don't think she'd have understood. Not altogether sure I do. |
