Bankers and thieves
What the great train robbers did (apart from causing mayhem and misery) was to recirculate old bank notes that the Bank of England was sending for destruction. This is, of course, creating money or as we now call it quantitive easing. The scale of their QE was minute in comparison to the many billions of pounds created by the current 'austere' Chancellor and the Governor of the Bank of England. Posted by Jonathan Brind
