Plane truth Have obtained this original painting (on wooden board) by Gerald Coulson (1926 - ). It's called Winter Sunlight (Royale). I like it a lot though it's maddening that it seems impossible to find anything much out about Coulson other than the ridiculous sales catalogue web sites (which I think you have to take with a Siberian salt mine). Why isn't Coulson in Wikipedia? Apparently, Coulson's paintings of planes are quite valuable (worth about £4k) but his other stuff (like this one) isn't worth much. Ironically, if the painting had featured a plane I wouldn't have bothered to take it! | |
