I have slow worms in my garden at Chatham. When I was 12 and moved to Welwyn Garden City it was my great joy to discover slow worms on a bank in a green area at the bottom of my road.
Fantastic. I'd never heard of them before. And I haven't seen them since in real life though I have seen them being caught on the Lea towpath on tv!!!
I spent a lot of time on the towpath but I never saw a slow worm..
