Parkrun at Great Lines Heritage Park
When I was a teenager my dad used to like to prove he could out run me with his pipe clenched between his teeth.

This caused me alarm since I thought the old man would probably have a heart attack so I adopted the strategy of sprinting away to put him off.

Of course me dad was considerably younger then than I am now. But over the last 12 months I've improved my Parkrun time by 33%. The first was about 43 minutes. Just lately I've got to under 28 minutes. My heart still seems to be OK.

Maybe the teenage me was unnecessarily cruel to me dad?
