Chipped
Those of my friends who visited Chatham and ate from my plastic plates may be pleased to learn that today I acquired some china plates. They are small, mostly cracked but perfectly formed. I got them at Chatham municipal waste tip (or recycling centre if you are posh) from a lady who was complaining about having to dump her cups and plates in the builders rubble skip. Give them to me and I'll make sure they get a good home, I said. And she did. From now on meals at the Brind household will commemorate Arnold Wesker's famous play Chips With Everything, without necessarily having any fried food at all!
