I just talked to someone who, like my parents, got married at St Lukes Church in West Norwood. She said that when they went to see the vicar prior to the service they found him dressed in women's clothing at a bottle party in the crypt. Subsequently she heard that drug dealing in the churchyard had been going on. She also understood that the church had had a Ku Klux Klan section! I know little of my parents wedding except that as the photos on this video (which come from their wedding album) reveal it was a very windy day. I also know a half remembered story about how the verger cut his finger and bled profusely when he was trying to play the recording of the bells...
