INDEX August 19, 2015
This is the first load of washing in my new machine. It may not seem much but I've been planning this for 18 months.

When I bought the house in Chatham I couldn't bring my own washing machine and had to use the broken up machine in situ (see next photo). It's been difficult. If I use a wash cycle involving heating the water it fuses the electrical power at the mains. It doesn't work very well and though clothes come out smelling cleaner they often look dirtier! Hopefully the brand new one will be better. Installing it has involved re-modelling the kitchen and cost a lot of money (by my standards anyway). The actual cost of the machine was a fairly small part of the project. I set out to complete the job by tonight since I'm working tomorrow and of course Parkinson's Law (work expands to fit the time available) means I'm just finishing now in time to go for a run!
