Last autumn a very large house spider (or cave spider, perhaps) took up residence in my bathroom. But like a Green (which I am to a certain extent) I ignored it, and it did me no harm.
Shortly before it died (probably of hunger, there aren't many cave insects in my bathroom) it laid some eggs. I ignored those too. Well, today thanks to the miracle of life, the spiderlings have started to hatch. Whilst they are considerably cuter than their mother, it's hard to think of them as lambs, tadpoles or chicks. Spiders just aren't beautiful. |
