Jonathan Brind added 3 new photos to the album: Big Butterfly Count at Great Lines Heritage Park.

Did my big butterfly count (www.bigbutterflycount.org ) on Great Lines yesterday.

Saw lots of Marbled Whites, a butterfly I previously knew little about, but no Tortoiseshells, Red Admirals or Peacocks, the butterflies I remember from my youth. Perhaps they were there but I just didn't see them in the 15 minutes I was supposed to devote to the hunt (according to the rules).

Instead I saw Gatekeepers, Meadow Browns and what I took to be Small Coppers, though I couldn't actually get a good enough look of them to be sure.

There was one large white, which I took to be the Cabbage White I knew from way back when, flying under a new name.

I also saw one solitary Six-spot Burnet, a moth but for some reason supposed to be included in the count. However, I spotted it just after the time limit.

Shoud I cheat and include it?
