May should resign over MI5
| ||
Steve Hilton, who worked for former Prime Minister David Cameron in 10 Downing Street, criticised Theresa May’s record on security after the third terror attack in Britain in ten weeks.
He pointed out that Mrs May had been Home Secretary between 2010 and 2016, tweeting: “Theresa May responsible for security failures of London Bridge, Manchester, Westminster Bridge." He argued that a newspaper report suggesting the PM was trying to send a tougher message to security services was blame-shifting. "Her spin doctors attack MI5, but she was in charge of them for years...” Mr Hilton worked for Mr Cameron during the Coalition government after the 2010 election, before spending a year as a visiting scholar at Stanford University in California.
