Waiting for the chimney demolition I got talking to a guy who used to work at the coal power station. He told me about a previous chimney demolition at Grain Power Station.
A photographer had set up and pointed his camera at Kingsnorth (even though it wasn't scheduled to come down at the time). He told the photographer he was pointing in the wrong direction, but the photographer took no notice.
At the appointed time the explosion took place and the chimney began to sink. The photographer took no notice until the sound of the explosion arrived a while later...
I promised not to make the same mistake since there was now only the one chimney.
