Spooks promise to tell the truth about paedophiles

According to a report in the Halloween issue of The Times the spooks are going to co-operate with the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse and have already provided files and documents relevant to its investigation into the failure to pursue and prosecute child abusers in Whitehall and parliament.

They should certainly be able to help. In 2015 the Independent Police Complaints Commission investigated allegations that the spooks ignored or concealed claims that police officers and politicians were involved in child abuse.

Issues included notorious child abuser Cyril Smith MP, the Kincora children's home and a "dossier" handed to Leon Brittain in 1984, when he was home secretary.

Don Hale, who I briefly worked with on the story about the Mallard steam locomotive, has made a number of allegations about evidence being concealed.
