There's meat in my freezer for the first time in years. I'm more or less vegetarian at home (though not at restaurants) but I like to have a haggis around Burns Night. Usually I get a vegetarian haggis. These are much better than the meaty ones because the meat used in haggis is traditionally the floor sweepings from a butcher's shop, or something like that. It's the spices and flavourings that count. Unfortunately the last vegetarian haggis I bought from the internet was disappointing. Nice packaging. Bloody expensive. Not very tasty. At Asda today I could get a meat one. It was very cheap and no doubt will be very good. Shame it's meat. |
