Cressida Dick, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, wants a lot more data (about the every day life of innocent people like you and me) because, she says, the police conviction rate has gone down!
And why does the Metropolitan Police commissioner reckon rates are down? Well because they are swamped by too much data about real criminals! Perhaps the real reason why conviction rates are down is that the police have been bigging up crime statistics in a bid to get more resources. More crime means a lower per centage of convictions even if the real numbers stay steady as a rock. |
