I dislike Foley, especially on wildlife programmes, but the recent Dimbleby narrated programme about hippos went several steps further with an allegedly musical back track consisting of more or less random musical sounds. I can't think of any technical reason for this appalling cacophony. The photography, as ever, was both extraordinary and beautiful. They had an interesting story to tell. So why ruin it?
