| Any lingering doubt that the security services might, despite all appearances, actually be on our side has now been dispelled by the announcement that the NHS is working on an app to monitor our movements, so that we can be told if we have been in contact with someone who has the virus.
As anyone who has seen the oscar winning documentary about Edward Snowden knows (it was called Citizenfour), the security services have had this capability for many years and do not need an app. The NHS app is apparently going to take a month to develop (at least) and clearly the lockdown can not end until it is rolled out. The cost to the economy is extraordinary. | |||
