Did NHS cuts waste billions?
There are now suggestions that countries with a well funded health service where people wear masks, have done better when it comes to combating the virus, than countries like Britain. If this turns out to be true it will reflect very badly on the Government's scientific advisors, both those who have resigned in disgrace and those who remain. But even more significant will be the horrendous cost of under funding the NHS for so many years. If some of the hundreds of billions that have been thrown at the economy to attempt to avoid the covid slump, could have been saved had the NHS been properly funded; the penny pinchers who strangled the NHS will be seen to have been the most profligate money wasters in history.
