Medway Park, the Gillingham swimming pool, is supposed to be opening. But there is no way to book a session if you are a pensioner and entitled to free swimming. It looks like only members can book sessions. The pool only exists because of public subsidy and the government wants pensioners like me to use it so we stay fit and have less need to use the NHS. The pool can not survive on membership fees alone but clearly the idiots running it do not understand the system.
