By George making history, history This is pretty much all there is left of Fort George, a stronghold designed to stop a Spanish take over of the Caymans. Within living memory there were walls and sand the kids used to play in. But a developer demolished it all, seemingly in a fit of pique because the local authorities would not let him build what he wanted. These days the developers seem to have better relations with the Cayman authorities, since they are building everywhere. More condos (Caymans does things American style) but not more roads, shops or schools. Not even more people to live in them, probably, since it's tough to get permission to live here. A bubble? What bubble? | ||
