I got totally frustrated trying to work in Linux tonight because my machine was being hacked and my work was being sabotaged. So I gave up and switched to a Mac that is completely offline. Both the wifi and bluetooth are switched off and there is no ethernet connection.
Despite what you would expect to be absolutely foolproof security, the hackers continued to sabotage my work. So I thought, OK they are getting through somehow; how about turning the firewall on. Strangely it is possible to turn a Mac firewall on even if you are offline. So I did this. Still the hackers got through. Still they sabotaged my work. Eventually I managed to get somewhere close to what I was trying to achieve, by working in very small sections of text; so that everything was in view on screen. Then I compressed (zipped) the work as I progressed. I didn't do as much as I intended but I did make some progress. These bastards think they are clever, but all they are doing is destroying the foundation of the internet. There was a time when it was more or less impossible to connect computers. That time may be coming again. And it ain't nerdy kids working in their bedrooms. This mischief is being committed by governments and being done in your name and being paid for by you. | |||
