My dad was very proud of this tent, or as he called it marquee because it was 14 feet long. It was an ex military tent and he said that had been the only tent still standing when everything else on the campsite had been blown away by a storm.

It had wooden dollies that looked like they had been hand carved on a lathe. And there was nothing like the modern sewn in ground sheets. Inside the tent you could see the grass.

Judging by the age of Chris (my youngest brother), I'd say the photo was taken in 1965 or 1966, possibly in the Lake District. I'm the tallest one.
