How to make the Twitterati pay
Elon Musk is not my favourite guy but I do have time for his idea of making people pay to use Twitter. I believe that information only wants to be free in a world run by the corporations. In a better world people know that s/he who pays the piper, calls the tune. However, the blue tick scheme is clearly based on his own experience as a twitter user. Blue ticks are for the rich who can afford to shell out a few bucks for public relations. But there is a way of gradually weaning the twitterati into paying for the service. When it was set up users could only post something like 120 or 140 characters. Why not re-introduce that rule except for users with a blue tick?
