The road to Swinside
Lime Kiln in Green Road The path points this way But the signs are not good. Fell Road. This is the way to get there, probably.		Second attempt to find Swinside (Millom's Stone Circle). Second failure. It involved an encounter with a bovine animal that might have been a bull and if it was the udder kind it was hiding it pretty well. It rained pretty much all the time and my camera got soaked to the point where it stopped working. Still I have a better idea of where it is now, so I think I will find it next time.The guide said look for a wooden gate with a Lake District National Park sign. Clearly I was in the wrong place. The field contained a number of very interesting stones, perhaps megalithic burial stones, perhaps just big stones. Follow the field wall to the end and there's an easy way to cross the wall. Unfortunately there's also a beware of the bull sign and a rather noisy bovine.
