The graph I have often published showing atmospheric CO2 growth makes it look as if the increase is happening at a fairly consistent rate, but this is a trick of the graph.
What looks like a flat line conceals the fact that the rate of CO2 increase, is gathering pace.
This is happening despite 26 annual international gatherings dedicated to reducing CO2 emissions. The 27th (this year) will have an oil sheikh as its president.
If there was any point at all in the COPs (other than filling five star hotels and drinking the bars dry) then it would have shown up in the data by now.
