I seem to have been banned from making new friends on Fb. A while back someone asked me to invite her to friend me on Fb, but I found it impossible to do so. The button (or whatever you call it) was simply missing. I thought nothing of this imagining it must be down to her settings. However, I noticed that the potential friends Fb used to throw up had stopped appearing. Instead I get potential groups I can join. Not exactly the same thing. Then yesterday I attempted to friend one of the runners at the local Parkrun. I had talked to him about this and he was keen for me to friend him. When I tried, once again the button had been removed. I do not understand the arcane and Machiavellian world of Fb. Anyone who pretends they do is deluding themselves. But I think this is new. I have never heard of the right to friend being denied. As the wicked witch of the west said when Dorothy was liquidating her: what a world, what a world!
