Anat Ginzburg and Gilad Ginzburg, attorneys for 42 survivors of the October 7 attack sueing the Israeli security forces, said the Hamas massacre at the pop concert that "could have been very easily prevented".
A report in the Times of Israel says Shin Bet, the Israeli domestic "intelligence" agency, had flagged up concerns prior to the event. The Times of Israel says "Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar held consultations the night before, and even sent a special operations team to the border the night before the onslaught". The legal action in the Tel Aviv District Court against Shin Bet, the Israel Defence Forces, the Israel Police, and the Defence Ministry, alleges multiple failures. "A single phone call by IDF officials to the commander responsible for the party to disperse it immediately in view of the expected danger would have saved lives and prevented the physical and mental injuries of hundreds of partygoers, including the plaintiffs," the lawsuit said. "The negligence and the gross oversight is beyond belief." |
