Spooks go into the business of editorial control
A while back I started making a video that clearly annoyed my torturers. One of the watchers working on behalf of the spooks, (I have encountered many of these evil people) suggested I should just censor my video in order to make MI5 happy. But I pointed out that self censorship is the most vile form of censorship since you tend to censor things that don't need to be excised, as there is no way of knowing what 'authority' really wants. They haven't said.

So I put my video to one side and effectively forgot about it. Recently I have been upgrading my archive since I am now using a different kind of hard drive, SSDs. I decided to transfer my archive of the offending video to an SSD.

The result has been two days of stress, confusion, unnecessary expense and confusion. Did I mention confusion before?

There's nothing illegal or immoral about my video. It actually has some very positive things to say about some very interesting characters. But it also pokes fun at some people who really need to have fun poked at them. Well, I think so anyway.

I have created multiple SSDs. I have used two offline Macs. I have turned off the wifi, unplugged the ethernet and put the firewall into the most ridiculously secure settings. But still I can neither output the video as a file nor as a DVD.

Final Cut Pro, Apple's video editing software, is quite difficult to learn but outputting a video is simplicity itself. I have been doing this for decades.

Yet every time I try to do this I am told the operation 'has failed'.

I regard censorship like this as intolerable. If my video is libellous or illegal then take me to court.

This sneaky way of manipulating is the hallmark of a society that has lost its way and no longer believes in any of he old fashioned virtues.
