Could this explain the Havana Syndrome
My friend Tom de Havas is a technician or maybe a scientists. When it comes to radio (and many other things) he knows what he is talking about. This is his Facebook post debunking some of the fears that the tin hat brigade have about 5G, the latest generation of radio transmission. I re-print it with his permission though I am far from sure that he would approve of the way I am using it.

OK, I thought, let'd put this rubbish about 5g to bed once and for all after being sent another "lamp posts are being turned into weapons" video for evaluation. So hello chat GPT conversation. What are the frequencies and what are the power levels.
28GHz
39GHz

With base stations having up to 300W! That is a lot and I think that is what worries everybody including me. Put that with a phased array antenna or high gain antenna (which focuses the signal) and you have field strengths that might be of concern. The main concern is heating of the lens of the eye which can cause cataracts. This is why it is important that your domestic microwave doesn't leak.

It is worth remembering that these frequencies have been used by modern radar for some time now though with the military's disregard for safety with the use of depleted uranium this may not be such an assurance.

Investigation shows that 300watts is certainly not used in an unrestricted way. Street lamp 5G has power restrictions of around 20watts and then there are some antenna restrictions also. Personally I am not sure how directed the phased array antennas on street lamps are because at such short wavelengths there should be the possibility for seriously directing the beam. My guess is that the 20watts will be delivered in an area of at least a meter square simply because as you move the phone about, the system doesn't want to update your position for every centimetre, and so with such a wide distribution it should be insignificant in terms of cooking your eye lenses. That is even assuming that eye lenses absorb at these frequencies.

The other point is that there is dynamic power control and so the full 20watts is not going to be used except when you are far away from the base station.

Of course there is one easy way to avoid 5g and that is don't buy a phone with it or switch it off in your phones configuration. If your phone doesn't talk 5g then the 5g isn't going to talk to you, direct signals at you etc. Perhaps the most important point of all is that 5g is silly anyway because is there really any need for that kind of bandwidth for a single person.

My interest in this is that he refers to "the possibility for seriously directing the beam". This might explain the Havana Syndrome, the illness suffered by diplomats and spooks. I also note that Tom refers to field strengths that might be of concern pointing out that "frequencies have been used by modern radar for some time now though with the military's disregard for safety with the use of depleted uranium this may not be such an assurance." I think he was trying to be re-assuring.
Surprising amount of work going on to develop system responsible for Havana Syndrome
