SOURCES The incredible Mike Lynch story has changed from him working on a cyber security system that is so secure that it is a threat to the intelligence agencies, to him actually working for the spooks.

Lynch was the man who scored an incredible victory over HP in the American courts (see "UK Tech Mogul Lynch Beats HP Fraud Case in Stunning US Loss" Blomberg Law June 7, 2024.

Mike Lynch co-defendant Stephen Chamberlain died when he was hit by a car while out jogging see BBC report. The fatal accident happened at almost the same time as Lynch and his daughter died in the most grisly cirumstances.

Private Eye suggests the Lynch story may have another chapter in an English court when HP attempts to claw back the money it claims it lost to Lynch.

If the current reports are accurate (which seems highly unlikely given the obvious interest taken in them by the intelligence community) it is possible he had information about Mossad which led to the timing of the attack on Hezbollah.

If Mossad's secrets were in a safe that divers could get to it may have been thought prudent to start the Lebanon operation straight away, even though there was no obvious reason for doing so.

Israel felt the need to have a shift in the aims of the "war" as defined by its cabinet, on September 16. Up until that time the official aims of the conflict had been to defeat Hamas and rescue the hostages. The new aims included the words "return the residents of the north safely to their homes", in other words defeat Hezbollah.

Was this shift in official policy required because up until that time Israel expected to use the explosives in the pagers and walkie talkies when Hezbollah launched an attack; an attack that never materialised?
