Black Poplars

The line of Black Poplars between the Porter's Field and the lower section of the marsh up to the railway line, has seen better days. This is probably due to the natural cycle, the trees are just getting old. This is what they looked like in 2007. There is also a Black Poplar on the Oxbow.

Hybrid Black Poplars in the paddock and Black Poplars on the Oxbow.
In June 2012 the iconic Black Poplar next to Sandy Path was severely damaged in high winds. See this link.. Then one of the Black Poplars on the Oxbow came down, probably as a result of high winds.
