Boardwalk

The boardwalk is a great way to get across the centre of Lea Marshes, even when it is very muddy. However, a few yards off the boardwalk the path is often so muddy that stout boots have to be worn throughout much of the winter. The boardwalk also shows off another aspect of Lea Marsh: the vast quantity of fences, mostly erected over the last 20 or 30 years. The whole point of the marsh should be that it is accessible by anyone at any time. How do all these fences help? See getting access.
