The Middlesex Filter Beds is on the south side of Lea Bridge Road
(the same side as the Princess of Wales, though on the other bank of the Lea Navigation). It is between the Navigation and the Flood Relief Channel
, better described at this point south of the weir
as the old Lea. Although Middlesex Filter Beds is to some extent a fenced and gated area, in practice it is easy to get into it (or out of it) at any time of day. The Electric Bridge is a structure running across the old Lea fairly close to the Friends Bridge, follow arrow on the aerial photo above. |
