A few days after the user group meeting, we saw the back of the weird storage vessels, used to supply water to the turf on Porters Field, put down when the Olympics basketball court was demolished. The water clearly was not needed since Porters Fields, once the reliable all weather accessible play area on Lea Marshes, is now a quagmire. This is partly to do with the heavy rain, but clearly the plastic membrane laid below the earth used to fill the hole left by the former foundations of the practice basketball court, is not helping.
