Under Lea Bridge Road

Lea Bridge Road splits the Lea Marshes and this underpass allows pedestrians to walk from one part of the regional park authority to another without getting snarled up in the traffic above. As might be expected from anything the regional park authority gets involved with, it is extremely well appointed for warning signs and fences! But no-one seems to know whether they are trying to keep the traffic in or out. It might work better if there was no tarmac on the Sustrans route. Click to see pictures of the other side of the underpass.

The architectural style is known as rather old brutalism, but it's actually quite a safe place since there always seems to be people about. Click to return.
