If you visit the bird hide (probably named because the birds are usually hiding when you go there) in the Waterworks Nature Reserve, the fenced off section next to the building, you may be surprised to encounter pigs. LVRPA has put pigs into Bed 14 because they are supposed to improve the management of the bed (apparently the reeds grew too fast there). Pigs will undoubtedly cure this problem but they would also remove every other living plant, given time. Of course, LVRPA is only going to leave the pigs there temporarily.
