On 12 May 2011 Thames Gateway Minister Bob Neill visited the Walthamstow reservoirs to see how the area will be transformed by plans to open the area to the public.
The £10 million project will see the four square kilometre site, dubbed Walthamstow Wetlands, and made up of ten reservoirs in the heart of the east end, turned into an urban nature reserve and wetland centre with a 'Water and Life' visitor centre and other facilities. |
