Since the Paralympics drew to a close in September, I have been involved with a number of meetings with Greenwich Council, the Valuation Office and the Federation of Small Businesses to see what can be done to compensate businesses in East Greenwich that suffered terrible losses over the summer as a direct result of Olympic operations. Many businesses reported weekly loses of between 50-90% and are still struggling to survive now as a direct result of the poor trading conditions at that time.
