(14) | Richard Brind's widow Elizabeth makes a will, 1686.
Elizabeth Brind 1686, Aldbourne In the name of God Amen. I Elizabeth Brind(e) of Whitmorely in the parish of Aldbourne in the County of Wilts widow being in perfect memory do make & ordain this my last will & testament in manner & form following (that is to say) first I commend my soul unto the hands of Almighty God my creator & to Jesus Christ my Redeemer & to ...........my body to the Earth from whence it came and Item I give unto my son in law William Apre (Axce?) at pughis(?) in the aforesaid County (Wilts) one shilling to be paid him within twelve months after my decease & the decease of my kinsman Thomas Brind of Aldbourne husbandman Item I give unto my daughter Ann Adams wife of Roger Adams of Ramsbury forty shillings to be paid at the time aforesaid Item I give unto my daughter Grace Choplin (Coplin) forty shillings to be paid her at the time aforesaid (.....in case my said daughter Grace Choplin do happen to live so long Item I give unto my daughter grand Em Sanefield (Lankfiled?) of Little Bedinge (Bedwin?)one shilling to be paid at the time aforesaid Item my will is that my two daughters Martha Brind & Elizabeth Wollridge shall hold & enjoy all my lands houses farms & all appurtenances belonging to my Bargain at Whitmorely in the parish of Aldbourne aforesaid now in my possession during the term of the natural life of said Elizabeth Wollridge & the term of the said Martha Brind's life .....and to pay one part of the Lord's Rent & the other to pay the other part, equally between them after my decease & the decease of the said Thomas Brind And further ...my said bargain at Whitmorely to be equally divided between my said daughter Wollridge & my said daughter Brind, by my beloved friends Peter Wollridge of Ogborne St George & Edward Crofter (Coster?) of the same, after my decease the decease of the said Thomas Brind And to hold it so equally divided during all the whole term and also to pay all other payments equally between them for the said bargain within named Item all the Rest & residue of my goods & chattels whatsoever unbequeathed my debts paid & funeral expenses discharged & legacies performed, I give & bequeath unto my two daughters witness said Martha Brind & Elizabeth Wollridge sole executrix of this my last will & testament And I so request my said beloved friends Petter Wollridge & Edward Crofter to be .........of this my last will & testament & see it performed in every particular In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this seventh day of June Anno Dom 1686 signed sealed & published as my last will & testament in the ............of The mark of Edward Crofter Elizabeth Brind Peter Wollridge ..........
