This photo was taken in 1880 and is from the Queensland Library's collection. It is said to be a ship called The Narwhal but it is clearly flying an American flag. There were several American ships called The Narwhal and the ship by that name William Darby Brind captained was around 40 years earlier in the 1840s. It is highly unlikely that the 1840s ship would still have been around in 1880. | ||||||||
